Indie Banditas closing

Today has been a tough day. I have decided to close the store.
With my landlord letting me out of my lease, I just took it as another sign that now
just is not my time to be a shop owner.. I have three days to get things boxed up, shipped out, and thrown out.
I will definitely be shedding some tears as we repaint the floors. All those beautiful signatures.
People that came in and hoped that when they came back, they could still find their name.
Kids that would come in and spend several minutes before finding theirs.
With the economy the way it is, it was a definite risk to start a new business.
It was a dream of mine, but in the last month, it really lost it's appeal.
Rylan just starting school and not having a mom to come home to was a big pang in my heart.
Days of making no more than 30 or so dollars, but having to stay there all day....were torture.
No matter how much you love something, sometimes you just have to look at the big picture.
The big picture is that my family needs me and I need them. I need the schedules, as chaotic as they are. I need/love to cook dinner, read stories, help with homework etc. Not that I couldn't do that before, but a mom that works all day and then has to shuttle kids around, isn't a happy mom to be around. I will still be running the craft shows (next one Nov. 26th, 27th) and will take my store online to sell that way. I still have dreams of owning my own little book/indie craft shop again, but next time, when all my ducks are in a row.
Thanks to everyone for all your support.

Achievement day girls

Got to love these girls. Nonny had to pose (up above) to show off that gargantuous belly!
It's strange not having a baby around the same time as her. I can cope though!
Back in the day...as in before Rylan. I used to teach a yoga class. This is when I was all of 120 lbs and very in shape. Tonight, I tried to conjure up all that energy and knowledge and teach 12 little girls how to be in "tune" with the spirit and our bodies. It was a great lesson for ME! I really need to get back into shape. Not just for myself, but as an example for my FIG girls that, I hope, look up to me. They did great. At one point, we turned off all the lights and had the girls only focus on their breathing. Rhonda and I went around and touched each of the girls, either on the forehead or hand. I really feel that it was a bonding experience. Very special. Afterwards, the girls decided to have a contest on who could do the wall challenge the best.

Myrons first soccer loss...

Playing against High School kids has posed quite the challenge to our boys. Playing up means they are competing against bigger, stronger, more skilled players. Unfortunately on Saturday, the Jets (Myrons team) lost by one to the Tracyton Bombers.
This team had it out for us. Last year, they lost the tournament by one to us.
At last nights practice, Coach Maracich made sure the boys got their workout. They ran nearly the entire time. What I love about their coach is that instead of just barking commands, he gets right in there with him. He ran right along with them. There is such a sense of comraderie between the team mates. Most have known each other since Kindergarten, including Myron.
Way to go Jets!! Next week we are in Port Orchard. Wish them luck!

Thanksgiving for dinner....

No camera which means, I have to come up with more creative means of posting. Tonight I made a Thanksgiving dinner for my family. Hey, why just once a year, right? With the leaves falling and the crisp smell of fall in the air, it was all I needed to get into the holiday spirit.
When the family came home, we enjoyed this feast together and took our time.
For FHE, we listened to Elder Uchtdorfs general conference message that we had missed this past weekend.

It was a wonderful, peaceful, spirit filled night. Enjoy!

General Conference

The highlight of this general conference, for me, was this talk. This talk touched me more than any other. Enjoy!

Happy 40th birthday Summer!!

Summer turned 40 on Thursday. I know I said I would never go back to Karaoke, but never say never right? She is a dear friend and Shane was supposed to come with me but....alas, he backed out. What is up with karaoke now? When I was younger, it was dancing. Now it's karaoke.
Summer with her favorite gift of the night....ROLOS!
The gang.
Elise, Summer and Tom.

Nate had his shirt unbuttoned quite a bit. This led to some pretty funny jokes. After we posed for our Charlies Angels shot, he just HAD to be photographed as well. As Charlie.

Me rockin the coca cola! I am such a bad girl. It was nearly midnight!
Anyhow....fun night.

Decorating for Halloween

My camera is gone, so I have to rely on my laptop webcam to take photos. Tonight we began our Halloween decorating. Shane does this every year. Lots of webs and little pumpkins.
Can't wait for Halloween!
