Still here.......

Yes, I'm still here. Wish I had photos to share but my macbook cord is in need of serious repair. Oy Vey!
We had a great Christmas and the kids somehow managed to be happy and excited on this mamas meager income, so I consider it a great success. Thank heavens the tax fairy will be visiting soon so I can make it up to them. I am still working and things are going well. I have something exciting to report in a little while, but, for now just know that we are all alive and well AND happy.

BIG ANNOUNCEMENT!

Tonight, I will be performing....as in singing.....as in...IN A REAL BAND!!
I have been writing my own music and practicing with my band and tonight is our first show.

Happy Halloween 2012

Well, the kids are getting older. Just two of my five went trick or treating this year. Listen....it's OK by me! I didn't even go. After two Halloween parties and having to wear my costume all day at work....i'd HAD IT with Halloween. I hate the holiday. I hate the sugar....are you feeling my angst?

The older boys hung out with their friends aka girlfriends. By the way....argh....this girlfriend business!

I don't like it. Nope, not at all. Nathans girlfriend is sweet, demure and quiet. Myrons girlfriend....

NOT those. MY Myron! Can you believe it? Sweet, kind, Myron.....don't get me stahted!

Anyways....Halloween was fun for the little ones. Shane took them out and I went home and took a nap

Nuff Said....bring on Thanksgiving. The only holiday that does not give me a headache......so far.

Grumble grumble....The Jehovah Witnesses may be onto something. Bah HUMBUG!

Homecoming 2012

 Nathan went to homecoming this year with his sweet girlfriend. We just adore her. They went with a large group of friends and had dinner at Bennihanas, took a limo, rode the new ferris wheel, and came back to the Island for a late night movie party. He had a blast. As always, I am always appalled by the dresses these mothers allow their daughters to wear! I was so happy to see Nathans girlfriend modestly dressed and was impressed with Nathans comment that he is not interested in girls that dress like that.

Myron was asked to go to homecoming and agreed, but, then felt uncomfortable with it and had to tell the girl that he didn't want to go. If you know my little Myron at all, this made him feel just awful. Instead, he and his buddies hung out and had a movie night. Love these boys of mine!

Happy 14th Birthday Brennan!!

I can't believe my son is 14!  That went by so fast. Happy Birthday to my sweet boy.
He is loving, funny, athletic and an amazing friend. I am so proud of the boy he is.

Birthday, homecoming, school, and more!

Nathan went to homecoming this past Saturday with his girlfriend and best friends. They rented a limo, went to Benihana, and rode the ferris wheel. His girlfriend is just the sweetest and we really love her. Notice how modestly dressed she is. Man, as you can see in the photo, the girls on this Island like to show as much as possible. Yuck.

We went to back to school night last week to meet Maes teacher and I finally got to take a tour of the school. WOWSA. 

 Myron and I had a sweet mommy/me date. How lucky am I to have such a great kid that still loves to be with his mom at almost 16 years old.

I started writing/singing music with a band. Nathan comes and drums with us. It's been really fun.

AND FINALLY.......MY birthday!!! 

We started at Shima, my favorite restaurant that is now closing. We ordered EVERYTHING almost on the menu. Then we headed to Isla to sing karaoke and I was surprised that all of my friends came, even from Seattle, to surprise me!

The kids started school......as in ALL FIVE of em!!!! WOOT!

Mae still begs to ride on my legs and feet. Love that weirdo.

I have been spending a lot of time with my friends from high school that have recently moved back to the Island. So fun...

Brennan sustained his first football injury (in 5 years!) on Saturday and now has a beautiful half cast and awaits possible surgery....The snuffbox bone...yup. Google it! No, really....

The kids have put in a good 1000+ hours on our ping pong table...

Oh....and Myron is still the cutest, sweetest boy a mom could ask for.

Indie Banditas Summer Show and 122 Benefit!

Crazy summer!

Things have been bonkers lately!! I am working full time and have a show coming up on August 11th that will be a doozy. My close friends restaurant, 122 was burned to the ground due to lightning and we are turning my show into a benefit concert as well. Phew...no time to even think straight!
Nathan is in Colorado with Dad on a jeeping excursion for a few weeks and Brennan and Myron leave for their one week canoe trip next week.
Everything is going swell. I was lucky to sneak away with a couple of friends last weekend to camp and Lake Crescent which was really nice. The first night, Friday, we didn't get up there until midnight and the campspots were taken. So....we drove another hour to La Push and camped right on the beach.
It was beautiful. The next day, we headed back to Lake Crescent and had a nice relaxing day. It was much needed!

We traveled to Bellingham this past weekend to see my new niece and to celebrate Mae's 5th birthday with her aunts and uncles. It was a wonderful weekend. I'll let the photos tell the story.
