Sunday Fun Day? May Day? Almost...

On Sundays I work from 10-2 and it's just me. So....I brought my little Mae Mae along. She had a lot of fun.
Just because we can't get to church, doesn't mean we can't worship! I organized three separate groups today and we sang hymns and read the bible. It was wonderful.
After work, we decided to walk part of the way home. I showed Mae that it can snow in the Spring via cherry blossoms....

It was cute that Mae wanted to make wishes everywhere (see video) UNTIL....she wanted to make wishes EVERYWHERE....

Oh yes....an entire field of wish flowers. Have mercy. We were there for over a half an hour.

World Book Night 2012

I am SOOO tired, so this post is gonna be a short one. I was sick all last week so now mama has to work 14 (2 under my belt so far) days in a row to make up for it! Ugh. Anyhow....World Book Night was a success. I am posting a couple of photos that the reporter shared with me.
I signed each of the 40 (20 of Glass Castle and 20 of Peace Like a River) copies of books I was to give out.
Enjoy the photos and hopefully I post more about how amazing the experience was.

Ciao!

Rainbow Fish!!

Well, Rainbow Fish was a huge success! So thankful to my friends that came out to support me. It made it easier to perform. Before the first show, I had a panic attack. I thought..."what if I screw up my lines!" As we lined up to go in...I had to run to the bathroom and throw up. Then...I was fine. After the first show, we had a two hour break so the cast decided to tour downtown and promote the show. It was so much fun!
Everyone was taking our photos and the little kids couldn't get enough of us.
The second show was AMAZING. I not only nailed all my lines, but, felt comfortable and confident. We had a famous director/actor in our audience and my own director said that he was laughing and smiling the whole time. It was an amazing experience and apparently, the buzz was so great, that a theater in Seattle wants to pick up Rainbow Fish!!! So....it looks like I might be performing this amazing play again for a much MUCH larger audience.
Myron and I had such a great time working on this together.
Now.....the acting bug has bit me and I am already looking for the next play to perform in!!

Kishi Bashi and Oh Montreal at the Showbox!

So, I went to a show at the Showbox last week with a friend. We went to see "Oh Montreal" a band that I had heard great things about. The opening act was this guy, Kishi Bashi and I was in awe from the moment he started. So much in fact, that the other bands paled in comparison.
You just have to listen to his unique music. He plays the violin, beat boxes and sound loops.
It was INCREDIBLE.

Kishi Bashi's first EP, Room For Dream, came out in May 2011 on Aerobic International. Room For Dream features four songs, including a duet with Kevin Barnes and can only be purchased from downloading platforms such as iTunes or Bandcamp. A physical release is due later this year. His live show is a solo performance based on live violin and vocal looping and beat boxing. He has often been compared to Andrew Bird and Owen Pallett.[3] Kishi Bashi's first full-length record, 151a, is due out on Joyful Noise Recordings on April 10th.[4]
